Researching Interstate Commerce Commission records at the National
Archives.
Ongoing
research focuses on transportation planning and policy, with a focus
on decision making in public-private relationships. His earlier research
examined the relationships between transportation in 19th century
industrialization, 20th Century deindustrialization, and community
development.
These
interests have inspired projects ranging from articles for journals,
lectures, as well as planning strategies for economic development,
brownfield restoration, and historic preservation. Summaries and
